Voron 2.4 Working

After a long and protected build, the V2.4 is now working. First print as per below. The specs of this machine are:

  • 300mm by 300mm XY platform, 400mm Z height
  • 24v heaters and MCU power (dual power supplies, one for HB and the other for general)
  • MCU is single BTT SKR 1.4 Pro with the MOT-EXP board for the extra required motor steppers
  • Heat bed has the BTT MOSFET switch
  • Mosquito Hot end (currently with 0.6mm nozzle) and all Bondtech extruder components
  • Unfortunately I have 5v, 12v and 24v fans...
The first cube quality is 70%, printed at 100 mm per sec with NO tuning. All the basic steps and calibration done. Generally no big issues, just print quality. The next steps are:
  • Tune the printer, like bed mesh, pressure advance, etc.
  • Design and build the enclosure
  • First the new Raspberry 5" TFT screen, as I do not have the EXP1 or EXP2 headers left for the LCF and the TFT-touchscreen seems difficult to make work
  • Properly group and tie the cabling in the main electronics deck
  • Install a the proper filter, spool holder, etc.
My goal for this printer is to be primary reliable printer for all things. The V0 (and second one V0) will be the support printers, maybe with different size nozzles, and ready for different materials. But so far, the V2.4 that has been built and now running, is very impressive and I am indeed happy with the outcome.
